Codon One is for anyone learning molecular biology — high-school and university students, pre-med and biology majors, and curious self-learners. Lessons start from the fundamentals and build up, so it works both as a first introduction and as a refresher before exams.
The course spans six modules: Chemistry of Life (molecular biology), Genetics, Evolution, History of Science, Cell Biology and Development — covering DNA, RNA, proteins, the genetic code, cells, inheritance and more, each in short illustrated lessons with quizzes.
Yes — the first module is free and needs no account or sign-up. The remaining modules can be unlocked with a one-time in-app purchase, individually or all together. There is no subscription.
Yes. Lessons, quizzes, flashcards and the glossary are stored on your device, so you can study without an internet connection once the app is installed.
Codon One is fully translated into 21 languages and follows your device language automatically, so lessons, quizzes and terms all appear in your language.
Module 1 is free. The other modules can be unlocked with an in-app purchase — either individually or all together. Open any locked module to see the options.
Purchases are tied to your Apple ID, so they transfer for free. Open the shop or a locked module and choose Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple ID.
Codon One follows your device language automatically. Change your language in the iOS Settings → General → Language & Region, and the app will switch. Inside a lesson you can also tap the menu to temporarily view the original English text.
Open the Progress screen and use the erase option in the top corner. This clears your quiz results, success rates and review history on that device.
We'd love to hear it. Inside a lesson, use the "Rate translation" option to flag translation quality, and you can submit questions from the quiz area — or just email us at info@codon-one.com.
