What it's for

• Learning biology from the ground up. Lessons start with the fundamentals and build up to the level of introductory university courses.

• Keeping up with your lectures. Photograph your lecture slides or import the PDF, and the glossary terms on them become flashcards.
• Looking things up. The glossary explains 251 key terms, the 20 amino acids and the nucleobases.
• Asking when you're stuck. Ribo, the AI study helper, explains lesson pages, glossary entries and missed quiz questions.

What it isn't

• Not a textbook. The lessons are short and focus on the core ideas. Keep your textbook and lecture notes for the details your course requires.
• Not tied to one syllabus. The course follows the logic of the subject, not a specific curriculum or exam board.
• Not a deck builder. You can't write your own cards. The flashcards come from the course and from the glossary terms on your lecture slides.

What it costs

Module 1 is free and needs no account. The other modules are one-time in-app purchases, one by one or all together with Unlock All. There is no subscription.

Devices and languages

Codon One runs on iPhone and iPad and works offline. It's available in 21 languages and follows your device language. An Android version is in closed testing: join the beta.
